Main Plaza has been a center of San Antonio?s civic life since the 18th century. Its hundreds of years of architecture include governmental, commercial, and religious buildings, one of which is San Fernando Cathedral. Established in 1731, the cathedral is an active place of worship and hosts community events such as celebrations of Las Posadas each December.
