Dear John, This is the time of year when many of us think about making special gifts of peace and goodwill that make the world a better place.
Having seen firsthand how conflict destroys families, communities, and even nations, I believe we must always work for peace. As we enter this season of peace and goodwill, will you make a gift to support our shared mission? |

In Mali, decades of fighting have disrupted community life. Aisha Mint Ahmed (above) and other women have been separated from their children because conflict has closed schools and limited jobs. Aisha works in Kidal, while her daughters must live with relatives hundreds of miles away where schools are open. The Carter Center is working in Mali to keep an agreement between separatists and the government moving forward. It’s a slow and difficult process, but Aisha hopes that peace wins because she misses her children. She encourages both sides: “You need to struggle. You need to persist to bring peace. Life is not sweet without peace.” |

Your gift today will help us wage peace on behalf of the most vulnerable people. Together, we can equip individuals and governments with the tools to end violent conflict, advance democracy and human rights, and reduce the burden of disease.
The Carter Center will take your support to the places around the world where it is needed most, tackling problems that no one else will address. Thank you for building hope for the world this holiday season.
Sincerely,
Jimmy Carter Co-Founder and Trustee The Carter Center P.S. There is no greater gift than peace. Please make a generous gift today that brings peace and hope for people like Aisha.
