Dear Friend,
Today, Americans United is celebrating Bill of Rights Day! In 1791, the first 10 amendments to the Constitution were ratified. That list, or bill, of rights helped protect citizens from an overly powerful government. The Bill of Rights has become, along with the Constitution it amended, the guardian of church-state separation and religious freedom.
The passage of these amendments is a watershed moment in U.S. history. But how much do you actually know about the Bill of Rights? Take our short quiz and find out!
Christian nationalists like to deny that church-state separation is in the Constitution. But the Bill of Rights is key to our secular government. Take our quiz to test your knowledge, then visit this page on our website so you’re prepared with the facts about church-state separation, religious freedom and our Constitution.
Happy Bill of Rights Day!
