It can be easy to forget how far we’ve come, John. The Alliance was formed ten years ago, in the days after Sandy Hook, when a group of faith leaders, local elected officials, parents, and concerned citizens came together to demand change.

The decade since has been filled with setbacks and far, far too many preventable tragedies. Most often, we focus on those disappointments and heartbreaks because it motivates our work. But this last decade has also been filled with progress.

Washington has become a leader in the fight against gun violence, proving that in the absence of federal action, states can lead the way. Earlier this year, we reflected on that progress in this video. And we’ve been thinking about it a lot this week, as we commemorate the 10th anniversary of Sandy Hook. Today, we invite you to take a few minutes to join us in reflecting on how far we’ve come and how far we have left to go.

None of our success would have been possible without supporters like you and none of our future victories can be won alone. Please, consider making a gift today to support another decade of our lifesaving work: [link removed].

Thank you,
Renée (she/her)
