Rooted in Community

Dear advocate,

On behalf of OCA - Asian Pacific American Advocates, we hope you and your loved ones are staying safe and doing well. We would like to offer our warmest holiday greetings and thank you for your participation and support of OCA throughout the years. Your time, passion, and generosity make OCA the nationally recognized AAPI civil rights organization it is today.

It was an honor for each of us to have served as your National President and witness the growth and continuation of the organization’s impact. OCA owes its success to our members’ selfless actions and tireless commitment, which result in effective change and lasting community building. Though each of our terms had its own challenges, we were able to overcome obstacles due to the supporting force of our membership, chapter leaders, community partners, and business partners. We value your partnership as well as your friendship.

Today, AAPIs are still being used as a wedge in affirmative action processes, AAPI essential healthcare workers still lack access to proper healthcare, and our community is still facing the brunt of xenophobic attacks due to misinformation and disinformation. We are still considered “foreign,” despite our history and contributions to this country.  We must continue to work for a fair and accurate representation of our community and uplift the AAPI voice. For this, we need to build a pipeline of leaders that will bring AAPIs to the table in all sectors.
Today, we ask for your continued support and commitment. OCA has launched its end-of-year campaign, “Rooted in Community”, which will help fund our national internships and policy & advocacy work. This will provide college students and recent graduates with the life-changing opportunity to live and work in Washington, D.C. alongside members of nonprofits, nationally renowned thought leaders, and influential Congress members.
By making a tax-deductible gift this holiday season, you can help us meet our $150,000 goal and ensure that there is a pipeline of AAPI leaders for tomorrow.
Give Stocks, Make Positive Impact on Your Community AND Tax Returns!
With warm holiday greetings,
