As 2022 draws to a close, we offer you our deepest thanks for your support in this past year.
Dear 350Brooklyn Members,
This has been yet another year of vigorous, effective action on behalf of the planet and our future. You, our fellow volunteers, have made phone calls, posted tweets, hung flyers, marched at rallies, made art, written letters, researched issues, created podcasts, deliberated over tactics at meetings, and done so many other things that move us forward in the face of this crisis. You are all pretty wonderful.
We are indeed a volunteer-driven organization. And yet it does take some money to keep us going—to pay our Administrative Assistant and our Zoom account, to buy art supplies and print palm cards, and to keep our website updated. Can you help? Anything you can contribute is valuable to us. If you can make it a monthly contribution, your $10/month turns into $120 per year, or your $25/month turns into $300. You can donate here.
Happily, 350Brooklyn is growing. We’ve added nearly 800 members since the first of the year and so in 2022 we added an orientation for new members. You can see the film we made for that here. And we’ve added another campaign, the People vs. Fossil Fuels campaign, aimed at persuading President Biden to declare a climate emergency and so increase his ability to move the country off fossil fuels and onto renewable energy.
We have so much shared work ahead of us in 2023. We need to ensure that NYC’s law requiring big buildings to cut their energy use gets genuinely enforced. We’ve got more great stories to share on our podcasts. We need Albany to fund our landmark Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act. We need to continue to create spaces where parents and children can take action together—and so much more. Will you help support this work with a financial gift? Any amount is welcome, and we mean that. Here’s that donate button again:
Wishing you all a peaceful, restful holiday season. And we’ll see you again in 2023!
With hope and determination,
The 350Brooklyn Steering Committee
