Today, I voted to pass a continuing resolution to fund the federal government through Friday, December 23^rd, and avert a government shutdown.

Congress is preparing to finalize FY 2023 government funding, and the continuing resolution we passed in the House will give us the time we need to complete the federal appropriations process.  This crucial legislation will avert a government shutdown and ensure we complete the federal appropriations process swiftly and correctly.

I want to thank House Appropriations Chairwoman Rosa DeLauro for her continued leadership in reaching a bipartisan framework to get us across the finish line in the appropriations process. As a senior member of the House Appropriations committee, I look forward to signing a final government funding package soon to deliver for my district, South Texas, and the American people.
