We’ve all felt it.
The past several weeks have been a rollercoaster. With
devastating attacks and hateful rhetoric targeting our communities, it can
sometimes feel like we’re only taking steps backward.
As People For continues to gain recognition for the hard work of our team
and members in fighting to expose and disrupt those on the Far Right, I
wanted to highlight a new special set to air [ [link removed] ]tonight at 10:30 PM ET on
NBC News Now called “Epidemic of Hate.” In the special, I had the pleasure
of joining People For cofounder Norman Lear to discuss the rise of
antisemitism across the nation and efforts underway to help fight it. I
encourage you to tune in if possible.
But today, my primary purpose in writing is to focus on some recent
victories that highlight the progress we’ve achieved together.
Here are just a few recent wins that are on my mind as I write you this
email… and that give me optimism as I consider the challenges that lie
   ahead in 2023:
     * Dogged get-out-the-vote efforts in Georgia turned out voters across
the state concerned about preserving our democracy.
     * Progressive district attorneys were elected across the country, from
major metropolitan areas to rural communities, in a shift that will
advance public safety and criminal justice reforms.
     * Our project Right Wing Watch continues to garner attention across
several national news networks, maintaining pressure on those who seek
to advance a far-right extremist agenda that would dismantle our
democracy and impede equality for all.
     * We continue advocating for the swift confirmation of fair-minded
judicial nominees who will balance and restore integrity to our
federal judiciary – 97 confirmed federal judges nominated by President
       Biden to date!
Each of these victories — and so many more — is a testament to the work
you support, mobilizing progressive voters and advocates at every level of
government. Businesses, candidates and news outlets are paying attention
to the impacts of hateful rhetoric. And together, we’re inspiring the next
generation to be actively involved in creating the change they want to see
in their communities and across the nation.
I hope you can take a moment to celebrate these wins with us, and enjoy
this holiday season with your loved ones.
Thank you for being part of this tremendous work – we couldn’t do it
   without you.
   Onward,
   Svante Myrick
   Incoming President
   People For the American Way
