Forbes: Brett Kavanaugh Attends Conservative Holiday Party: Latest Supreme
Justice Caught Cozying Up With Partisans

Washington Post: Why Kavanaugh partying with right-wing conservatives
raises ethical questions

Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh partied last week with Trump
inner-circle white supremacists Stephen Miller and Sebastian Gorka,
disgraced Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz, Newsmax's Sean Spicer and Greta
van Susteren, and Republican operative and Blackwater founder Erik Prince.

New coverage in The Washington Post, Forbes, The Seattle Times, Business
Insider, and more -- shows that the firestorm is only getting hotter
around Brett Kavanaugh and this Supreme Court's ethical and legitimacy
issues.

[ [link removed] ]JOIN TENS OF THOUSANDS WHO HAVE SIGNED ON: "This Supreme Court is
increasingly facing a legitimacy crisis. The U.S. Senate must launch a
full investigation and take steps to restore the American people’s trust
and confidence in the Supreme Court."

Now, Judd Legum's Popular Information site is reporting more details about
who exactly Kavanaugh chose to socialize with -- and the ethical issues
that would create problems for any Federal Judge in the country -- but not
Supreme Court Justices:

POPULAR INFO: Matt Schlapp [who hosted the party] is a far-right operative
who wears many hats. He is chairman of the American Conservative Union
(ACU), one of the nation's most powerful right-wing advocacy
organizations. Schlapp also runs the Conservative Political Action
Committee (CPAC) events, large gatherings featuring political extremists
and conspiracy theorists like Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, My
Pillow CEO Mike Lindell, and former White House chief strategist (and
convicted felon) Steve Bannon...

"At the party, Kavanaugh was joined by guests that have business before
the Supreme Court. Stephen Miller, a former advisor to Trump with an
affinity for white nationalists, currently runs America First Legal -- an
organization involved in several cases currently pending before Kavanaugh
and the other members of the Supreme Court...

"If Kavanaugh was a judge in any other federal court, his attendance at
Schlapp's party might have violated Cannon 2 of the Code of Conduct for
United States Judges. Specifically, Kavanaugh is permitting Schlapp and
others to, at a minimum, 'convey the impression' that they have special
access."

Rulings by this court striking down abortion rights, voting rights
protections, common-sense state and local gun regulations, federal action
to combat climate change, and more -- against the will of the people --
have shaken the American people’s confidence in this Court and our
democracy overall.

We have an ongoing campaign drawing attention to the Court's increasing
legitimacy crisis. Everyone from Senator Elizabeth Warren to new House
Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries has worked with us to educate the public
and increase the pressure on this extreme Court. By signing, you'll be
joining this ongoing campaign.
