This is huge. The floodgates on polluting projects are open.

DEVELOPING... yesterday morning, the Trump administration officially announced its proposal to gut the National Environmental Review Act, such that agencies will no longer have to consider climate change when approving major projects like highways, pipelines, and other infrastructure proposals.

We need to move quickly. There is a 60-day window before the change can take effect. We're mobilizing to flood House and Senate offices with letters. We're organizing environmental activists in key states. We're going to overwhelm federal agencies with public comments. We need to get this reversed — now, before it's too late.

Earlier this week, we sounded the alarm and LCV members from all over the country pitched in with $5, $10, $20 donations — some donating for the very first time, and many making monthly contributions to help fight back.

Friend — we need your help. A major donor has put up a $500,000 fund for environmental campaigns like this one — IF 10,000 LCV members pitch in first. We're turning to our members for help. If everyone reading this right now pitched in — even small donations — we'd blow through that goal in minutes.

Please, renew your membership with the League of Conservation Voters today for $5 or more. It's the best thing you can do to help right now »

Friend — in reaching that goal, small donations count the same as big ones. Renewing your membership for just $5 could make the difference between funding some major environmental campaigns this year, or totally scaling back.

AND, if you make a donation of $35 or more, you'll get your choice of one of these awesome t-shirts to show your environmental pride:

Since Trump took office, NEPA has allowed the environmental movement to block or stall a series of major polluting projects — including Keystone XL — because the administration failed to weigh climate change into their proposals.

Now, these proposals won't even have to attempt to evaluate their impact on climate change. Other projects could sail through review without disclosing increases in air pollution and other kinds of waste discharge. And the public won't have the ability to provide input, as the law intended.

Bottom line, gutting NEPA has huge, HUGE implications. We can't let Trump completely gut it without a fight — but the window to stop him is short. Don't sit this one out, friend.

Thank you — for everything you do for the environment.
