Friends,
Today, we mark 10 years since 26 lives were brutally and needlessly taken at Sandy Hook Elementary.
Through a decade of empty seats at holiday meals and milestones missed, Sandy Hook parents have pushed through their grief to push our leaders to act. For too long, we failed them. With the passing of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act we finally made progress, but the fight isn't over.
We must do more to fight the epidemic of gun violence in America. We must do better to stop the countless mass shootings that happen year after year.
As we remember the lives lost at Sandy Hook 10 years ago, our leaders should also re-commit to action. The Active Shooter Alert Act, the Assault Weapons Ban, the Untraceable Firearms Act — these are all proven, commonsense policies that would save lives. I promise that I will do everything in my power to pass these vital bills into law.
Thank you for lending your voice to the fight against gun violence today and every day, to honor the lives lost and create a safer country for all.
David
