$18.16, John.

That’s the average contribution to our campaign this fundraising quarter.
It’s a special number, and I want to take a moment to tell you why.

$18.16 represents a nationwide movement of grassroots Democrats standing
up for our democracy. There’s true power in grassroots support; we have
proved that $5, $10, and $18.16 at a time, we have the power — together —
to rival even the highest-spending Republican super PACs and billionaires.

These grassroots dollars gave us the resources to stop the Republican red
wave with an expanded Senate majority and the strongest midterm House
defense during a Democratic administration since John F. Kennedy.

And in just four weeks, you raised Rev. Warnock over $515,000 to beat back
Republican efforts to defeat him.

[ [link removed] ]John, in another moment, I’ll tell you about everything
we’ve accomplished thanks to this team’s grassroots support, but first,
will you pitch in $18.16 now to make our movement even stronger?

Democrats helped small businesses and working families survive the
pandemic with the American Rescue Plan. We cut child poverty nearly in
half with one of the largest middle class tax cuts in recent memory.

We took on the NRA and expanded background checks for gun purchasers under
21. We cracked down on gun trafficking and strawman purchases. We closed
the boyfriend loophole to keep guns out of the hands of domestic abusers.

We took on Big Pharma and capped the out-of-pocket cost of prescription
drugs, ensuring that no one on Medicare will pay more than $35 for
insulin.

We took on the fossil fuel industry to cut emissions by 40 percent by 2030
with the largest investment in green jobs and clean energy in history.

We created jobs by passing the largest infrastructure bill since
Eisenhower. Then we created even more with legislation to boost
semiconductor manufacturing jobs here in the United States.

The House election was extremely close. Democrats could only afford to
lose 5 seats, and now, it appears that Republicans will have to defend the
same razor-thin majority in 2024. Winning back the House and defending the
White House and Senate are entirely within reach.

But I need your support to take on Kevin McCarthy, Marjorie Taylor Greene,
Matt Gaetz, Lauren Boebert, and Jim Jordan. They are not fit to lead our
country.

[ [link removed] ]Can you chip in $18.16 or whatever you can spare to finish this
fundraising quarter strong and ensure we have the resources to respond to
Kevin McCarthy’s next two years of chaos and attacks?

Our work in this Congress is not yet done. We need to reinstate the Child
Tax Credit, as child poverty is back on the rise after the American Rescue
Plan funding expired.

We need to deliver a pathway to citizenship for Dreamers, as court rulings
put the DACA program increasingly in jeopardy.

We need to take action now to ensure President Biden’s next two years are
as successful as the last two.

I am spending every moment between now and January doing everything I can
to ensure that Democrats are delivering for the American people.

Thank you for being an important part of our work.
