Nearly half of our income comes from tens of thousands of readers and activists donating just a few dollars at a time. But more importantly, it makes us accountable to you—not to billionaire backers, hedge funds, or corporate advertisers. We know that in order to keep operating, we have to fight and deliver for what you believe in.
