Re: Cybersecurity

John, we MUST stop putting our country's cybersecurity at risk.

China is using social media apps like TikTok to harvest as much data as possible to compromise American cybersecurity.

Maryland is the cyber capital of America, and we have been at the forefront of our security initiatives, including hosting cybersecurity summits, and taking action to make sure we are safe from threats from China.

I've issued a statewide ban of TikTok and other Chinese and Russian-influenced products and platforms on state-issued phones and electronic devices. We are urging the federal government and other states to follow our lead.

Thanks to An America United's national advocacy network and messaging platform, we are not alone in wanting to secure our country's assets. Our members have helped talk to legislators and asked them to do the right thing.

Since Maryland's ban, other governors have followed suit, and Congress is working on solutions to ban the use of TikTok on statewide & national technology.

We need your help if we want to continue getting the message out that cybersecurity is no joke.

→→ Please contribute $10 or anything you can to help our messaging team fund print, digital, and in-person initiatives.

Thank you,
Governor Larry Hogan
