Real Justice Top Wins in 2022
Successfully defended many of our justice champions. Despite the millions that conservatives spent to defeat our pro-civil rights leaders, we were able to re-elect Joe Gonzales and John Creuzot in Texas, Wesley Bell in Missouri, Satana Deberry in North Carolina, and Diana Becton in California.
Grew our movement by electing more bold leaders. 2022 was a BIG year for criminal justice reform. We built on our past work by helping to elect Steve Mulroy in Tennessee, Kimberly Graham in Iowa, Mary Moriary in Minnesota and Pamela Price in California.
Continued the fight for real justice in San Francisco. Our team made over half a million phone calls and sent hundreds of thousands of text messages to voters in an attempt to defend former DA Chesa Boudin against the Republican-led recall. After one of the major figures of the recall was appointed by the Mayor as the new DA, we created a microsite to document how Brooke Jenkins’ regressive policies won’t do anything to achieve real justice or make San Franciscans safer.
Highlighted how District Attorneys are the first line of defense for people seeking abortions As soon as Roe v. Wade was overturned, we launched a microsite to highlight the important role that DAs and other elected prosecutors play in protecting reproductive rights.
Launched campaigns for justice and accountability Our work wasn’t only at the ballot box in 2022. We also had thousands of people take part in our campaigns to demand justice for Patrick Lyoya, Donovan Lewis, Jayland Walker, and Robert Lewis. After Gov. DeSantis suspended the state attorney in Tampa, we put together an open letter to State Legislatures to make it clear that they can’t strip the power of our elected prosecutors.

We have been fighting so hard to elect District Attorneys this year who are going to bring reform and and bring justice to their communities. Can we count on you to contribute to our End of Year goal to continue our work in 2023?
