After a career in higher education and public service working to make our country a better place, I couldn’t stand by as Trump and his allies pushed their dangerous, hate-fueled agenda while American families paid the price.

We’ve seen a relentless effort to rip away access to health care from millions of Americans. We’ve seen cruel attacks on immigrants and asylum-seekers fleeing violence most of us can’t begin to imagine. We’ve seen a refusal to pass laws that would protect our loved ones from gun violence. We’ve seen corruption and abuse of power at every turn.
