On January 7, 2023, Meta will likely reinstate Donald Trump’s Facebook account – just two years after he used the “platform to incite violent insurrection” (in Mark Zuckerberg’s own words) after the attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Let me be clear: Facebook must not reinstate Trump . His violent rhetoric that led platforms to ban him has not subsided in the past two years. In fact, his incendiary and violent language has only gotten worse. Trump has continued his baseless accusations of election fraud, amplified hate groups, and increased his calls for violence. We can’t go back.

Social media companies have a fundamental responsibility to protect their users — and our democracy. Will you add your name and tell Meta to keep Trump off Facebook because he is a threat to public safety and democracy? [[link removed]]

If Meta reinstates Trump, it will normalize his fringe and extremist views, effectively handing him a megaphone for his dangerous and extremist content rife with disinformation. Allowing him back on Facebook would only embolden him – giving him a bigger audience and amplifying the worst of his posts. Urge Meta to keep Trump off Facebook. [[link removed]]

We've already witnessed the dangers of Trump’s presence on social media platforms, and reinstating his Facebook account only puts American lives and our democracy at risk.
