Tomorrow, on December 15, the Planning Commission intends to approve the city's next housing housing plan. But despite loud cries from San Francisco residents for bold changes, the plan still has major flaws and tries to evade obligations to allow more housing. The San Francisco Planning Department intends to move forward a flawed plan so it can meet its deadline for the Board of Supervisors to give final approval next month.
We are shocked by the city's excuses for why it refuses to follow state law and why the city won't commit to implementing all of the instructions issued by state planners.
This is our last chance to give input to the city. After Thursday the plan will advance to the Board of Supervisors. Your email can put pressure on the Planning Department to make our city's next housing successful. Otherwise, the city is risking millions of dollars in affordable housing and transit funds in an attempt to pass a housing plan before the deadline of January 31, 2023. We remain deeply concerned that the state will reject San Francisco's plan in its current form. Send an email today to prevent that from happening—
