Noam Chomsky: “FAIR performs a unique and indispensable service”
“FAIR performs a unique and indispensable service in detecting and correcting media errors, distortion, bias, conformity to established doctrine. All of which abound. All of which prevent the clear-eyed vision of the world that is desperately needed to confront today's severe crises. FAIR's contribution to providing this clear-eyed vision has been of immeasurable significance.”
—the words of famed linguist and social critic Noam Chomsky this month.
While maintaining a small, leftist nonprofit for more than 36 years is not easy, it’s words like these that remind us of how important this work is. We work hard to offer a clear-eyed vision of the world, even throughout political, ideological and democratic crises.
We’re working to raise $70,000 by January 1, to get us on the right track for the year ahead, and though we’re inching closer, we still have our work cut out for us with a little more than two weeks to go.
While we strive to contribute to society by holding the corporate media accountable and making reliable, independent information accessible to all, it’s your contributions that have kept us going!
This year, we’re offering two gifts to choose from to thank you for donations.
The first is FAIR’s special edition 35th anniversary T-shirt, featuring a monopoly-busting design by Kim Balthazar-Fetsko that appeared on the October 2011 issue of Extra!. Shirts are union-made in the US.
The other is a tote bag, US-made from eco-friendly material by a licensee/affiliate with the Fair Labor Association.
