John –
Temperatures are dropping below freezing in crisis zones from Ukraine to Afghanistan. Children and families have been forced from their homes — or left to endure the winter without access to heat.
You can't control the cold weather, but you can help make sure displaced families have what they need to stay warm and well-fed, during the cold winter months. For a limited time, all gifts up to our $500,000 goal will be 2X-matched, doubling your impact for families in crisis this winter.
Can you help?
Frigid temperatures and winter storms exacerbate the crises families are already facing and make it even harder to get help. In Afghanistan, hospitals are reporting a spike in children suffering from pneumonia as temperatures fall. In Ukraine, families caught in the fighting are seeing their homes destroyed or cut-off from heat amidst massive blackouts.
The IRC is urgently responding to crisis zones like these to help families stay safe, healthy and warm this winter.
We are distributing emergency blankets and heaters in Dnipro in Ukraine, where many have fled to escape fighting to the east. In Afghanistan, we are providing cash assistance so families can purchase necessities, and bringing health services to remote areas.
Our response to reach families in crisis is only possible because of our compassionate supporters. You can help DOUBLE the support we're able to bring to refugees and other people in need this winter — but only for a limited time. Please chip in right now to help us reach our $500,000
match goal this winter.
Making a gift to fund life-changing programs like these takes only a moment, but makes a world of difference for the children and families we serve around the world.
Thanks for everything you do to power this important work.
