An update from Headwaters Directors
Headwaters staff have been working hard throughout the summer and fall, dreaming and strategizing about what the future of Headwaters Foundation for Justice will look like.
We want to give you a quick update on what’s happened internally so far!
Headwaters' three directors, Bilal Alktaout, Mary Delorié, and Mel Rudnick have written a letter to community that shares how our team has been continuing our work of investing in movements for Minnesota while we collectively lean into organizational development work to determine what’s next for Headwaters’ interim approach to leadership.

Did you catch our Fiscal Year 2022 Annual Report?
We’re excited to share our story of impact in Headwaters’ Fiscal Year 2022 Annual Report.
In fiscal year 2022, Headwaters moved more than $3.4 million to movement organizations in Minnesota working towards justice, liberation, self-determination, and community vitality. We grew our donor community, increased our grantmaking, and doubled our average grantmaking size.
We hope you’ll explore this report and learn more about how our work has taken shape and grown this year.

Make your year-end gift to Headwaters today
Headwaters continues to invest in builders in our region, and we execute this work with the support of individual donors who see the value in pooling resources to provide multi-year grants to grassroots organizations doing powerful movement building.
As you prepare to celebrate the holiday break with loved ones, please take a moment to donate to Headwaters. Your gift will honor the individuals and institutions that are working for a more just Minnesota. We’ll move your money to movements this spring!
