John, if you’re anything like us, your December diary is probably filling up with seasonal celebrations. While this time of year can be filled with joy and excitement, we also know that changes to your routine and an increased expectation to socialise can also be a source of anxiety when it comes to managing your diabetes. Â
Living with diabetes doesn’t have to mean a festive period without delicious food. The key to enjoying the festive period is approaching your food choices with balance in mind. Reminding yourself that no category of food has to be off-limits can help you avoid over-indulging on a single day. Instead, going easy on the treats by spreading your festive favourites throughout the season is a much more sustainable way to enjoy the whole Christmas period. If you're in need of some festive food inspiration, our top 10 Christmas recipes ( [link removed] ) are a great place to start.
Whether you’re a seasoned pro or this is your first Christmas living, or supporting someone, with diabetes, our guide has everything you’ll need to approach the festive season with confidence. Â

Support over Christmas
As our teams take time off over the festive period, our Helpline will close at 3pm on 23 December and will reopen at 9am on 3 January. If you’re in need of a listening ear throughout this time, our community can be there for you on our online forum, which is available to you 24/7.Â

Still shopping?!
If you’re still ticking items off your shopping list, why not check out our online shop. We can even treat you to a 10% discount when you use the code ENEWS10 by midnight on 18 December. For the best chance of getting your gifts before Christmas, we’d suggest ordering by 15 December. Â
