John, Team Delia here, with a bit of a different approach, but what can we say?
No, seriously – what can we say to get you to join Team Delia?
❓ Maybe we can tell you that Delia comes from immigrant parents, who came all the way from Guatemala while Delia's mom was pregnant with her.
❓ Maybe we can tell you that Delia spent her childhood volunteering in soup kitchens and food pantries and asking people experiencing homelessness to share their stories.
❓ Maybe we can tell you that Delia went from asking these people for their stories to helping them apply for jobs and other benefits when she started working at her church's homeless shelter at 17.
❓ Maybe we can tell you about Delia's years in the IL House, where she helped expand Medicaid to seniors regardless of immigration status, secured millions for affordable housing, and established an elected school board for Chicago Public Schools.
Beyond "maybe", we know Delia Ramirez is fighting hard to give our communities the elected official they deserve – someone who knows what Illinois needs, and how to get there.
John, we could spend all the time in the world telling you about these things, but the new legislative session is starting soon, and Delia needs all the support she can get to bring real change to our community. Can we count on you? [[link removed]]
