Say congrats!

Roy Cooper for North Carolina

John —

President Biden just signed the Respect for Marriage Act into law, ensuring that same-sex marriages will be respected in every state, even if the Supreme Court were to overturn Obergefell v. Hodges.

Democrats in Washington led the fight to pass this bill before the New Year because they understand just how fundamental the right to marry the person you love truly is — and they knew that taking action just couldn’t wait.

Governor Cooper is sending his congratulations to President Biden, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, and other D.C. Democrats, and he would love for you to join him.

Will you sign our card today to show your gratitude?

John, in the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade and end the constitutional right to access abortion care, it became clear that other fundamental rights were also at risk.

Justice Clarence Thomas specifically called for the Court to “reconsider” the Obergefell decision, which required all states to allow gay marriage.

By enacting the Respect For Marriage Act, Democrats have ensured that same-sex marriages will still be recognized if Justice Thomas gets his way.

Please, join Roy Cooper in saying thank you and sending your congratulations to the leaders who DEFENDED our right to marriage equality!
