John, the NDRC’s strategy of going state-by-state to secure fair maps works – and these charts help prove it.

In North Carolina, Democrats won three more seats under new, fair maps than they did under gerrymandered maps. Considering that control of the House of Representatives was decided by just a handful of seats, that kind of margin in a single state could make or break Democrats’ future chances of winning back the majority.

As Attorney General Eric Holder put it, we helped prove that “wherever Democrats can fairly compete, they can win.” That means if we continue fighting for fair maps in every state, then we can help ensure Democrats can win in every state.

We must keep fighting, John. Republicans have made it clear that they no longer view redistricting as a once-in-a-decade event – instead, they intend to continue manipulating the maps. That means the NDRC needs your continued support to fight back.
