Hi john, it’s Senator Tammy Baldwin, and I have exciting news to share:
The Respect for Marriage Act , my bill to federally protect same-sex and interracial marriages, is on its way to President Joe Biden’s desk to sign today after passing in the U.S. Senate and House with bipartisan support.
This issue is personal to me and to millions of Americans. I’m proud to have worked with Tina in this fight for LGBTQ+ equality, and I’m hoping you can chip in to our campaigns so we can keep up our progress. [[link removed]]

So much progress has been made in recent years toward achieving LGBTQ+ equality — but still, we see attempts across the country to take away rights for those in the LGBTQ+ community. Republican-led state legislatures across the country continue to pass harmful legislation, especially targeting transgender people and LGBTQ+ youth.
When the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade , Justice Clarence Thomas called for Obergefell v. Hodges — the case that established nationwide marriage equality — to be “reconsidered.”
After that, I knew that the progress toward marriage equality that we have worked so hard for was on the line, which is why the passage of the Respect for Marriage Act is so important.
This is a big step in the right direction, but our work continues. That’s why I’m asking:
john, can you chip in $10 or anything you can to my campaign and to Tina’s so we can keep making strides toward full equality for everyone in the LGBTQ+ community? [[link removed]]
