Dear friend,
As I love to say, our Digital Security Training program provides “21st-century support for 21st-century journalism.” This is because technology makes today’s journalism landscape different than it used to be, requiring a different approach on how to mitigate risk.
These risks are ever-changing, and our team of digital security experts constantly adapt and conceive new ways to help journalists overcome threats without jeopardizing their reporting.
Can you help strengthen the work of our digital security team by donating to Freedom of the Press Foundation ([link removed]) this holiday season?

An example of this changing online landscape came this summer with the overturning of Roe v. Wade, when our team received requests from journalists in need of up-to-date ways to keep their sources safe. With cybersecurity a top concern ([link removed]) , our team worked fast to publish an in-the-moment guide on how journalists could keep sources safe when reporting on abortion. ([link removed])

Journalists covering reproductive rights are tackling a challenging – but critical – beat with fast-evolving digital security risks. Read how FPF recommends journalists take care with source security while reporting on abortion ([link removed]) .

This kind of on-the-ground work is precisely why our Digital Security Training program is so important. Amidst evolving threats, journalists need cutting-edge expertise on how they can protect themselves — and their sources — while reporting on the most critical stories.

We’re the only organization offering in-depth and customized training to independent journalists and filmmakers. These reporters rely on YOU to ensure we can keep them up-to-date.
Thank you, as always, for your incredible support.
All the best,
Harlo Holmes

P.S. If you can’t donate yourself, sharing our donate link ([link removed]) on Facebook and Twitter can help us multiply our ask many times over!
