URGENT: Tell Congress to Pass Legislation to Help Birds Before Time Runs Out
Great Egrets.
There is no time to lose! Urge Congress to ACT NOW to pass legislation that benefits birds and the places they need.
Take Action
Great Egrets.
Dear Audubon Advocate,

As the end of the 117th Congress approaches, the next few weeks are the last chance for Congress to pass critical Audubon-priority legislation.

Tell your Members of Congress to ACT NOW! This small window of opportunity is our best chance to make substantial gains in protecting birds and the places they need to thrive.

Please ask your Members of Congress to support Audubon-priority bills to make critical investments in nature-based solutions that restore ecosystems, reduce greenhouse gas pollutants, protect bird habitats, and aim to build a sustainable clean energy future for both birds and people:
  • The Recovering America's Wildlife Act would provide $1.4 billion from existing federal funds to states and tribes to support their proactive conservation efforts for vulnerable wildlife species to protect them before they become endangered.
  • The Growing Climate Solutions Act is a farmer-centered proposal, empowering America's agricultural producers to play a voluntary role in mitigating the impacts of climate change and slowing habitat loss.
  • The Water Resources Development Act provides an opportunity to drive ecosystem restoration and climate resilience by ensuring that Army Corps policies and projects provide maximum conservation and community benefits.
  • The Migratory Birds of the Americas Conservation Enhancements Act would support conservation projects across the hemispheric ranges of migratory birds.
  • The Strengthening Coastal Communities Act of 2022 will update and modernize the Coastal Barrier Resources Act, which provides safe undisturbed coastal bird habitat and removes taxpayer-funded subsidies for hazardous developments.

Time is of the essence: Please write to your Members of Congress today, asking them to seize this final opportunity to help bring birds back.

Sincerely,
Andrew Mills
