Democrats kept the Senate, Republicans want it back

Republicans' dreams of a Senate majority in the coming Congress died last month. Last week's Georgia runoff put an exclamation mark on the disastrous election cycle in which it happened. But 2024 will have a lot more favorable ground for Senate Republicans, especially thanks to two developments last week: Sen. Kyrsten Sinema leaving the Democratic Party, and Sen. Jon Tester (D) refusing to commit to run for re-election.
