Next year, extremist Republicans led by Kevin McCarthy will take the reins in the U.S. House. These Republicans have told us time and time again that they plan to cut, privatize, and end Social Security. We must protect this critical program before they have the chance.

After more than 87 years, Social Security has become one of the most popular and important programs in America. Nearly 70 million Americans rely on the Social Security benefits they’ve earned through a lifetime of hard work.

Despite this, Republicans will stop at nothing to undermine this critical program. And once they hold the House majority, they’ll do whatever they can to get their way, including holding the federal government hostage and refusing to raise the debt ceiling.
