LEAP 20th anniversary logo

John,

The Law Enforcement Action Partnership is proud to announce that longtime speaker, board member, and former board Chair Superintendent Rick Van Wickler’s first book, "Freedom’s Guardians," was released today!

Rick’s steady leadership and wisdom has helped shape LEAP over the years – he is a law enforcement expert who truly practiced what he preached while serving 33 years with the Cheshire County (NH) Department of Corrections. Rick prioritized fairness, dignity, and rehabilitation rather than arbitrary punishment throughout his career – under his direction, Cheshire County Corrections drew attention for its compassionate treatment of the people incarcerated there. He became an advocate for human rights, for justice reform, and for second chances.

"Freedom’s Guardians" is Rick's oath to defend our country, a commitment he intends to honor to his last dying breath. Each chapter describes what Rick believes we need freedom from, and exactly how we achieve that freedom. His hope and intention is to engage critical, unbiased thinking and to inspire people to take action.

Pick up your copy of "Freedom's Guardians" today!

In solidarity,
The LEAP Team

Executive Director
