Hi Friend,
Fighting reached Abeer’s* village in Syria three years ago. Her family resettled in a refugee camp, where she’s spent more than half of her life since.
Now, home is a tent next to a small patch of earth. Abeer’s father tends a garden there, even during sweltering summers and freezing winters.
He can’t afford to lose their vegetable crop — it staves off hunger when food aid runs out.
Congress needs to hear this message, Friend : if funding for humanitarian emergencies falls short, kids will suffer the consequences. [[link removed]]
Poverty, conflict and climate change are stealing happy childhoods — they’re no longer promised in places like Ukraine, Afghanistan, Yemen, Ethiopia and Somalia.
Our country is facing a crossroads: step up to stop the downward spiral, or watch global needs continue to grow.
More support would mean more food, better shelter and brighter futures for kids like Abeer. Tell Congress: increase foreign aid funding to build the safe, stable world children deserve! [[link removed]]
Thanks for being a voice for kids,
