Dear Friends,

This week, NRCAT is releasing another film from our short film series, Humans Out of Solitary, a moving interview with Mr. Steven Mangual, Justice Advocate Coordinator with Latino Justice and a member of the NRCAT U.S. Prisons Advisory Council.

In the film, Mr. Mangual notes, "I call myself a survivor but I’m still in the process." He goes on to say, "We’re always going to be in that cell…and not just because of us individually, because of all the people we left behind; because of all the people that are still there today."

I invite you to donate to NRCAT’s year-end fundraising campaign today to help NRCAT build and grow our National Network of Solitary Survivors in 2023. Through NRCAT, interfaith allies and solitary survivors are Finding Our Voices: Making Change Together to fight for an end to torture inside U.S. prisons, jails, and immigrant detention centers. We will not rest until no one remains behind in these living tombs of prolonged isolation.

I invite you to donate to support these efforts of our amazing staff and grassroots network today. As a part of NRCAT’s year-end matching challenge match, your gift will be doubled dollar-for-dollar, amplifying your support for ending the torture of solitary confinement.

In gratitude for your commitment,

Rev. Ron Stief
Executive Director
