BIG NEWS!!!
BREAKING NEWS: We are excited to announce Border Angels has posted it’s first bond of our Familias Reunidas program! This asylum seeker from Cameroon is scheduled for release from the Otay Mesa Detention Center tonight (1/7/2020).

We cannot thank you enough for your efforts in making this possible and are enthusiastic about continuing to get more individuals released from detention. In doing so we are helping these individuals gather the tools to fight their cases outside of the alarming conditions in this for profit detention center.

LA/OC Day Laborer Outreach

Shoutout to our LA/OC Chapter for making this past Day Labor Outreach a success!

"This past Day Laborer Outreach in Downtown L.A. was special. Our volunteers decided to start the new year by making tamales for the day laborers (pretty delicious if we do say so ourselves haha). Thanks to our volunteers we served around 120 laborers (which is the norm for this location) tamales, some conchas, some cafecito, water, peanuts, as well as know your rights cards. It was great to see familiar faces and catch up with them on how their holidays went as they waited for work."

The Mobile School Project

The Mobile School project was born from the collaboration between two humanitarian aid organizations Border Angels and The Schoolbox Project. As you may know, Border Angels sponsors ~15 shelters in Tijuana, MX serving migrant families who often spend many months waiting for asylum hearings and next steps. The shelters house hundreds of children, many of whom have spent months, if not years outside of the school system - if they were able to attend in their home countries at all.
