Have you seen the impact you had this year, John? By standing with the National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC), you helped give life-changing legal services to thousands of immigrants and asylum seekers in 2022.

I invite you to take a moment to reread the email below from Lisa Koop, NIJC’s National Director of Legal Services, and celebrate our victories and those of our clients and communities. You made this happen!

You can continue to make a difference in 2023 and beyond.

Subject: You made a difference in 2022

Dear John, as I reflect on 2022, I am proud of all that the National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC), our partners, our clients, and our supporters have accomplished this year.

In honor of Human Rights Day today, we’re celebrating the life-changing impact our work has had for more than 9,000 people in 2022, and we’re celebrating supporters like you. Our impact is possible because of you.

I have a special message for you highlighting the amazing things that we accomplished this year. I hope you’ll give it a watch:

Here are some of the ways your support of NIJC made a difference in 2022:

  • We served 2,700 people seeking asylum, and 94% of clients won asylum protection
  • We helped free 66 people from detention so they could reunite with their families and communities
  • More than 2,000 pro bono attorneys volunteered more than 50,500 hours serving immigrants and refugees who are building lives in the United States
  • We responded rapidly as multiple global crises tested the immigration system, including welcoming new arrivals and helping Afghan evacuees file for asylum

I invite you to read more about our impact together in 2022 on our blog.

You have been an invaluable partner. You have stood with NIJC on the side of justice, human rights, and human dignity. Today, on Human Rights Day, I hope that you will take a moment to celebrate all that we’ve accomplished.

With gratitude,

Lisa Koop
National Director of Legal Services
