Londoners on average are now waiting a staggering 3 hours for police to arrive in an emergency.
The Liberal Democrats uncovered that over the past year, police waiting times across London have skyrocketed. Victims of crime are waiting three times longer than the target for standard calls of 1 hour. I went on BBC London to tell the Mayor and Government to make this a top priority.
From Wimbledon to Dagenham, Hammersmith to Redbridge, Londoners are being badly let down and left to fend for themselves. Across our city people don’t feel safe anymore. And these victims aren’t numbers - they’re real people like you and me who are left alone, afraid for hours.
The police are working hard but they simply do not have the resources to respond to serious crimes across our city. They are being let down by this disastrous Conservative Government and Labour's Mayor has closed Police stations across London. The police have moved away from the community policing that keeps us all safe.
