Happy holidays! In honor of Ballotpedia’s 15th Anniversary, we’re excited to welcome you to the 15 Days of Ballotpedia!

Over the next two weeks, we will celebrate a different part of Ballotpedia’s mission each day, showcasing the ways in which we impact our democracy by educating citizens about politics and policy in a neutral, trustworthy way. However, as a 501(c)3, our work is not free to produce. W ([link removed] e need your help to raise $100,000 this month ([link removed] so we can give all voters the information they need in 2023 and beyond.
Where it all began- Ballot Initiatives
Ballotpedia’s first pages began as a neutral compendium of U.S. ballot measures. Though we have significantly expanded our coverage, we still provide the most comprehensive coverage of ballot measures across all election information sites, including all state and territorial ballot measures, as well as local ballot measures.
We have also been compiling a database of state ballot measures dating from 1785 to the present, including comprehensive information on every ballot measure that there is a record of for every year, state and topic in U.S. history. To date, our ballot measure database contains a total of 16,373 measures- and with your support ([link removed] it will continue to grow.

In 2023, we will be covering local measures that appear on the ballot for voters within the top 100 largest U.S. cities and all state capitals. We are also covering a selection of notable police-related and election-related measures outside of the top 100 largest cities, as well as all local measures in California and all statewide ballot measures.
We hope these highlights of our work will inspire you to ([link removed] support us ([link removed] before the year’s end.

Best,
Leslie Graves
