Since Summer became Congresswoman-elect Summer Lee, she's been getting right to work.
→ Summer traveled to Washington DC for orientation for new members of Congress and members of the progressive caucus and began making plans to officially be a U.S. Representative.
→ Summer's been calling on employers to take care of their workers with living wages and basic benefits — from University of California student workers to essential rail workers.
→ Summer's joined other incoming members to advocate for necessary legislation including an assault weapons ban, expansion of the child tax credit, and protection for DACA recipients.

The reality is that we'll be up against a GOP-controlled House starting January 3rd, so we're going to have to work extra hard to push for the critical legislation that we need like Medicare for All and a Green New Deal.
