I’ll be honest, team: we really beat the odds in the midterm elections. Even the most optimistic pundits called our race a TOSS-UP right up until Election Day – just check out what FiveThirtyEight was saying about our district hours before polls opened:

But even with the odds stacked against us, a self-funding millionaire opponent, and national Republicans spending big in their efforts to unseat me, I defended my seat thanks to supporters like you.

I wish I didn’t have to ask you for even a dollar of your hard-earned money so soon after Election Day. But after winning such a tight race, you can bet Republicans will be trying even harder to defeat me in 2024 – and that means we need to start building a strong foundation now.
