Who decides who the President is, John? 

The American people, right? RIGHT? 

Except that under the Electoral Count Act (ECA), corrupt politicians can
exploit a loophole to overturn the will of the people and fix the outcome
for their chosen candidate. 

The good news is we have an opportunity to close this loophole by updating
this confusing and poorly written 130+-year-old law. A bipartisan bill to
update the ECA could come up for a vote any day.

watching.

know that there’s a lot of pressure from the opposition to this bill. We
need to be louder.

Fixing the ECA is a really important step to making sure our elections are
secure and fair. The update will clarify the role of the Vice President as
largely ceremonial and closes a massive loophole that allows electors to
overturn the will of the people with no consequences.

There are just days left in this legislative session and we absolutely
must pass this bill before the end of the year. If your Senators hear from
enough passionate constituents like you, they’ll be more motivated to act
and seize this opportunity to protect our elections.
