On Friday, Democrats on the House Oversight Committee released a report detailing Big Oil’s “greenwashing” — a strategy where the biggest oil companies use slick PR campaigns to bolster their public image with promises and actions that they knew won’t meaningfully reduce emissions and “could doom global efforts” to stop climate change.

In short, Big Oil has been waging a disinformation campaign against the American public for more than 40 years — all while pouring billions of dollars into new oil and gas investments that will keep us locked into using fossil fuels for decades. That’s time we don’t have.

They are pushing the world closer to climate catastrophe for profit, and we must hold them accountable.
