| | Support The Holiday Sitter: A sweet new holiday movie from our friends at the Hallmark Channel The Holiday Sitter stars the wonderful Jonathan Bennett and George Krissa, and is a fun, heartwarming holiday rom-com about love and family, and the first Hallmark holiday movie featuring an LGBTQ+ lead couple. It’s a happy representation of a couple whose families are fully supportive of their lives, with a story by Bennett, who's talked about how much telling this inclusive story means to him as an openly gay--and now married--actor. The film premiered on Sunday December 11th and is now available for repeat viewing on The Hallmark Channel. Visibility is so important, as is sharing thank yous when our philanthropic partners show up and highlight our families in such a positive way. We hope that, after viewing, you'll take a moment to thank our friends at The Hallmark Channel by sharing your messages on social media using the hashtags #TheHolidaySitter and #PFLAGProud and tagging @hallmarkchannel. Learn more and watch at pflagnation.al/HolidaySitter! |

| | Education Three Steps to Being a Better Faith Ally The holiday season is a time when people from a variety of faiths come together as communities of loved ones. Take a look at some ways to be mindful of being a better faith ally to others. - Learn: Read PFLAG’s publications Faith In Our Families (available in English and Spanish!) and be not afraid - help is on the way! straight for equality in faith communities to help you learn more about what you can do to be a better ally to LGBTQ+ people in your faith community.
- Watch: Check classic documentaries such as A Jihad for Love and Trembling Before G-d, which may be available on streaming services in your area or available to check-out virtually at your local library. Also, check out some episodes of Something To Talk About Live! that talk about faith, including one about being LGBTQ+ and Muslim, one about being LGBTQ+ and Christian, and one about being LGBTQ+ and Jewish.
- Share: Follow organizations for LGBTQ+ people of faith, including Keshet, Muslims For Progressive Values, Affirmation, Q Christian Fellowship, and more, which can be found on PFLAG National's faith resource page.

| | Something to Talk About...Live! This Year Hanukkah Begins Under a DHS Advisory Bulletin Hanukkah begins on Sunday, December 18, though coming together may not feel as festive this year. Anti-Semitism, attacks against the LGBTQ+ community, and bias-motivated crimes against other marginalized groups are making many feel unsafe as they come together with friends and chosen family this holiday season. Join us this Thursday, December 15 at 4:30 PM ET / 1:30 PM PT for Something to Talk About Live! where we will be discussing “DHS warns of domestic terror threats to LGBTQ, Jewish and migrant communities," by Julia Ainsley which appeared on the NBC News website. We're excited to welcome Rabbi Dayna Ruttenburg, Rabbi and author, as well as Faith Williams, Associate Director of Government Relations & Advocacy at the National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) to the conversation! As always, you can find us on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and LinkedIn. To learn more--and to check out our discussion questions in advance--visit pflagnation.al/STTALive-121522. |
