Dear John,

Right now, as Medicare prepares to celebrate its 54th anniversary, this program continues to come under attack by fiscal hawks in Washington who want to use Medicare benefits to pay for other fiscal priorities, including deficit reduction and massive tax breaks for the wealthy and multinational corporations and banks.

That's why the National Committee needs your help to keep Medicare strong and effective for another 54 years by making a generous Medicare Anniversary Gift of $10 or $5 today, which will support our important advocacy efforts on your behalf to protect and strengthen Medicare for current and future generations of Americans.

Medicare is one of our nation's most successful government programs — and it's a program that millions of older citizens have paid into and earned during their long working lives. So, at a time when 10,000 Americans are turning 65 every day and signing up for Medicare, any cuts to this program would be completely unfair and dangerous to the health security of millions of older Americans.

Sincerely,

Max Richtman
President & CEO
