How many brave young Americans have we lost, and how many other innocent lives have been lost in our prolonged conflicts in the Middle East? Is it ok for the President to provoke or initiate war without Congressional approval?

The defense industry is always eager to line our elected officials' pockets with PAC money, ensuring our representatives will support the aggression and war that make them rich.
In contrast, I refuse all corporate PAC money and all corporate lobbyist money. I’m 100% committed to repealing the Authorization of Military Force (AUMF), which has been used as justification for multiple acts of aggression against foreign nations. There is a reason our founders gave Congress the power to declare war, NOT the president.

In just a couple of days, I’ll be debating other Democratic candidates for Senate here in Iowa, and the topic is veterans issues. I’m looking forward to the opportunity to discuss my ideas to support our service men and women and our veterans, who deserve far better than what they get now. That’s why I fully intend to fight for increasing service member pay, increasing veteran benefits, and fully funding the U.S. State Department so diplomacy can replace the aggression that consistently places our troops in danger.
