Advancing the NDAA and supporting our Armed Forces

This week the House voted on and passed the National Defense Authorization Act. I was proud to support the NDAA, which will make America safer, give our men and women in uniform the resources they need and deserve, and send a clear message to our adversaries around the globe. Republicans secured key victories in this year's NDAA, including ending the COVID-19 vaccine mandate on our Armed Forces, increasing funding to combat threats from China, Iran, and North Korea, and ensuring the National Guard has what it needs to secure our southern border. We face ever-evolving 21st-century threats and this bill makes certain that our military personnel are prepared with the resources, equipment, and support at home they need. It is a privilege to continue to support our brave men and women protecting and defending freedom and I was proud to support this bill.

Advocating for Illinois farmers

This week, I joined my colleagues to urge the Biden Administration to take action for unfair practices targeting our agriculture community. USMCA leveled the playing field for Illinois agriculture but recent actions by Mexico are inconsistent with the agreement. The Administration must send the right signal so our farmers aren’t put at risk.

Remembering the Pearl Harbor attacks

This week we marked 81 years since the Pearl Harbor attacks. We remember the brave Americans who lost their lives and the Greatest Generation who answered the call to defend our freedom in the years to follow.

Visiting with 18th District Constituents

I enjoyed visiting with Carl Cannon to thank him for his years of service at the Peoria Park District. Carl’s Elite Community Outreach programs continue to provide support services for underserved youth in the Peoria area, helping kids achieve their potential. Thank you, Carl!
