I want to be clear — Trump’s actions against Iran have put our troops, our diplomats, and the American people at risk. This morning, I spoke to my fellow members of Congress to emphasize my stance that we must exhaust all diplomatic means, put our political differences aside, and stand for peaceful resolutions to human conflicts before taking the ultimate step of engaging in war.

We have seen what happens when we enter into a war with no clear goal or strategy. Thousands of brave American soldiers have lost their lives and billions of dollars have been sunk into industries of war that have failed to deliver a decisive win for the American people.
