John, now through December 31, your first donation to EDF will go three times further thanks to a $2-for-$1 match from two long-time EDF donors. More than 5,200 members like you have already had their gifts matched, contributing over $780,000 to put us 30% of the way to our $2.7 million year-end goal.
Your gift today will have triple the impact as we work with communities and partners in 28 countries to advance game-changing solutions that stabilize the climate, strengthen the ability of people and nature to thrive, and support our health.
Your donation supports our team of climate scientists, policy experts, economists, lawyers and more with decades of experience, as we work to:
- Slash methane pollution from the oil and gas industry, the fastest way to slow the rate of global warming right now;
- Accelerate our transition to electric cars, trucks and buses to cut the largest source of climate pollution in the U.S.;
- Modernize our electric grid to make it cleaner and more reliable; and
- Protect valuable ecosystems — like forests, wetlands, marshes and barrier islands — that can buffer damage from climate threats like extreme weather.
Will you help us turn climate action into results by donating today and claiming your $2-for-$1 match?

EDF members like you make major climate successes possible. Thanks to the generous support of our members, in the last year alone:
- EDF, partner groups and Indigenous peoples’ organizations developed the Tropical Forest Credit Integrity Guide for Companies to ensure carbon credits restore and protect tropical forests and benefit local communities. That way, when a company offsets emissions, the funds have a real, lasting impact for rainforests and people.
- The Biden Administration issued new draft regulations to cut methane pollution and protect the health of millions of people across the country. The regulations draw on a decade of EDF research and rules we helped develop and enact in key oil and gas states, Canada and Mexico. EDF members provided grassroots support by sending over 15,000 messages to the Biden Administration.
- EPA set new clean car standards, which will slash over 3 billion tons of tailpipe pollution by 2050. EDF continues to work with automakers, labor unions and regulators to drive the clean car revolution.
- The Inflation Reduction Act — the most ambitious federal climate legislation in U.S. history — allocates $369 billion to protect our climate and reduce pollution by investing in clean energy and electric vehicles. EDF and the environmental community worked tirelessly with key Senate offices, through months of negotiations, to secure the bill's passage.
John, now as we look ahead to 2023, we hope we can count on you to take the next step with us in this fight. Your year-end gift will go three times as far to build on our hard-won progress, thanks to a $2-for-$1 match that triples your impact. Will you donate today to keep the momentum going and put a better future within reach?
Thank you for all you do to protect our environment,
Emily Stevenson
