Hi Global Citizen,


Did you know that it could take another 286 years to remove discriminatory
laws for women and girls?



Today, we both celebrate International Human Rights Day and arrive at the end
of 16 Days of Activism.



However, the fight doesn’t end here. Women and girls around the world continue
to demand that their human rights be respected and upheld. According to a World
Bank study, under the law in 187 countries, women have only

75% of the economic rights and legal protection as men.



Empowering and investing in women and girls is key to ending extreme poverty.



Over the past 16 Days of Activism, you and millions of Global Citizens from
all over the world have joined our inspiring Prize Winners in advocating for
women and girls.



You’ve called for greater investment in sexual and reproductive health and
rights, the economic empowerment of women, the end of child marriage, the
protection of refugee women, and the shielding of children from trafficking
violence.



By working together to uphold women's sexual and reproductive health and
rights as well as promote women's economic independence, we can eradicate
gender-based violence once and for all!



Global Citizen, our voices are stronger together. This is what makes activism
powerful and our campaigning successful. Thank you for your continued
