Still hung up on his debunked 2020 election fraud theory, former President Trump recently called for the “termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution.”

The same Constitution that both Trump and I swore to protect when we took the oath of office. I’ve always respected that pledge — and I’ve honored it every day since. It appears, however, President Trump did not. 

These comments are unacceptable. Americans may disagree on any number of issues, but at the end of the day, we should all recognize the Constitution is the foundation that makes our country so great. 

Generations of Americans have fought to defend our Constitution, and the freedoms and rights it guarantees. Trump’s latest comments just prove once again that he’s not interested in the preservation of our democracy — only his own power. 

As we gear up for another presidential campaign from former President Trump, we need to be prepared to do everything we can to keep him from office.
