I’m writing to you today with an urgent appeal. While our progressive coalition has been fighting to pass more life-saving policies before time runs out on this session of Congress, my team has been hard at work ensuring all of our operations are running smoothly.

But I just had a conversation with my team — they’re very worried, John, and so am I. As it turns out, our fundraising has dramatically declined in the past year and we can’t sustain this pace any longer.

We’ve lost out on over $170,000 in the last year because our fundraising has slowed down so dramatically. And yet in that time, our progressive bloc has helped secure historic, transformative legislation that will change all of our lives for the better.

It has never been more important that we sustain our work for the long-term — we know now that we CAN pass our progressive agenda, but we’re also facing a GOP-controlled House. That’s why it is that much more important that we build up our resources now, get our fundraising back on track, and enter 2023 in a stronger position.

I believe in the strength of our grassroots movement. Since I’ve had the privilege of fighting for you in Congress, we’ve moved mountains together. But I can only continue to do that work and lead our Progressive Caucus with the assurance that our work will be sustained for the long-term.
